Coach Stella: Training That Never Ends

by gymfill_com

Life as a strength coach is a mix of reward and frustration—hard, then harder, up and down, celebratory and chaotic. It comes with plenty of high-fives, butt slaps, attaboys and attagirls, and DMX blasting on the radio. It’s not glamorous by any stretch: inconvenient schedules, dank weight rooms (which can be the best), and many meals eaten from tupperware containers.

But what it lacks in glamour, it makes up for with perseverance, grit, and a metric shit-ton of deadlift PRs. It’s a life and a career that never stops challenging you, showing anyone who works hard what you can get out of it when you put in the effort.

It’s been a while since I’ve watched something that inspired me and carried a message I think anyone can benefit from—strength coach or not. A brief documentary I received last week just went live today. It follows Coach Stella, a Boston-based strength coach who, for all intents and purposes, doesn’t let a headache or the urge to quit stop him from getting after it. Seven minutes, I think, is worth your time.
